49542 EN ES The Astral® series has been developed speci cally for outdoor cultivation with owers in autumn and has been part of our commercial range in France for many years. We o er numerous colours for early owering at the start of September, including the white owers of Astral® Leukothea, a new addition. Three further varieties are available for the later owering period at the end of September. All varieties are recognisable by their very dense, natural branching, with no growth regulators required. All of them are also highly resistant to powdery mildew. EN ES ¿Cuáles plantas resisten el calor y a largos períodos de sequía? ¿Cuáles plantas son de valor ecológico porque necesitan poca agua? Estas y otras preguntas similares son las que inquietan a cada vez más personas de todo el ramo y también a los consumidores. Hemos investigado sobre este tema y en verano de 2020 hemos encargado al centro docente y experimental para horticultura "Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt für Gartenbau (LVG)" de Heidelberg para comprobar la tolerancia a la sequía del surtido B&B de Selecta. El resultado son diversas variedades de nuestro surtido que en cuanto a los criterios de "impresión general" y "daños irreversibles de la planta" han salido con la cali cación de muy bien o bien aun habiendo reducido la cantidad de riego habitual a la mitad durante el verano. Entre ellas cuentan Delosperma, Portulaca, tipos de Sedum, Phlox de verano y Lantanas, etc. Y también algunas Pelargonios, Calibrachoa y Claveles en maceta han resistido la sequía y mostrado un rendimiento especialmente bueno. Which plants are ecologically valuable because they require little water? These and similar questions are being asked by more and more people throughout the industry, as well as consumers. We investigated this question and had the Selecta B&B range tested for drought tolerance at the Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt für Gartenbau (LVG) in Heidelberg in the summer of 2020. The result was a broad selection of varieties from our range that scored good to very good in the “Overall impression” and “Irreversible plant damage” criteria, even with half the usual amount of watering over the summer. These include delosperma, portulaca, sedum types, summer phlox and lantanas. But various pelargoniums, calibrachoa and pot carnations also withstood the drought test, performing particularly well. We then developed an attention-grabbing marketing concept for drought tolerance and heat resistance. With its catchy and attention-grabbing key visual, the Planta Morgana selection comprises a range of drought-tolerant plants that cope well to very well even in increasingly dry summers with little rainfall.
